Supervising the activities of more than 4400 classes, including towns and high buildings in different parts of Kabul

NEPA, in cooperation with the Kabul Municipality and the Kabul Police headquarter, has monitored the activities of 4,467 small and large smoke generating classes in different parts of Kabul in the past six months (from 15 May to 20 November 2020).
During this monitoring, 271 guilds of these have regulated their activities in accordance with environmental law and regulations; but 301 activities were blocked, including 76 to be fined and advised.
The owner of a guild that had unlocked the seal and started operating without paying an environmental fine was introduced to the Attorney's office.
The environmental inspectors also monitored the activities of 11 towns and 695 high-rise buildings in different areas of Kabul, including 8 towns and 333 high-rise buildings equipped with smoke filters; but with repeated recommendations, 3 towns and 338 high-rise buildings have not installed smoke filters so far. In addition, 168 high-rise homeowners are committed to reforming their system.
The environmental inspectors monitor the activities of large and small guilds in different parts of Kabul every day, whenever the activities of guilds, towns, and high-rise buildings are against the law and environmental regulations; In the first step, they will be advised, and if they do not take the advice seriously, their activities will be blocked.
NEPA once again urges all owners of guilds, high-rise buildings, and towns to upgrade their heating system and heating center in accordance with the environmental regulations and guidelines, otherwise, Their activities will be blocked and introduced to Judicial authorities.
