The Takhar Provincial Department of Environmental Protection, in collaboration with the relevant security authorities, rescued two rare birds eagle-winged and wind-eating bird (local name) from hunters and released them back to the nature.
According to Wali Habibi, Takhar's environment director: The two bird wings were discovered by environmental inspectors from a market inside the city of Taloqan and taken from smugglers.
Afghanistan has a list of protected wild animals that cannot be hunted or transported, including eagles and wind eaters. The law is used to deal with the culprits.
The collecting and shooting of all sorts of animals, plants, and birds are prohibited by Article 49 of the Environmental Law.
