Emphasis on better coordination between Government departments and the private sector in accessing the financial resources of the Green_Climate Fund

The National Environmental Protection Agency and international partner offices sponsored the first national conversation on improving access to funding for the Green Climate Fund ( GCF) yesterday (August 11, 2021) in Kabul.
In this important national program, including the leadership of the National Environmental Protection Agency, Hayatullah Hayat, Acting Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, Jalaluddin Saeed, Advisor to the President, Dr. Rafiullah Popal, Deputy Director of presidental office Affairs, Dawood Sultanzoi, Kabul Mayor, deputies and representatives, the private sector and international institutions were present
The goal of this National Dialogue is to debate and speed up the process of obtaining financial resources for the Green Climate Fund, as well as to improve cooperation between government agencies and the business sector in producing financial proposals and developing fund proposals.
The announcement of cooperation and joint efforts by government agencies and international institutions was praised by Pashtoon Atef, Director General of the National Environmental Protection Agency, who stressed the importance of expanding cooperation and coordination in the preparation of acceptable projects for the Green Climate Fund.
He continued "The national program is one of the financial aims of this fund, which is supported by developed nations, and it is used financially and economically by vulnerable countries.
National Environmental Protection Agency's Director General said"A number of 11 projects worth $ 900 million have been developed for the Green Climate Fund,The agency is working through formal procedures in collaboration with other government agencies to get approval."
"Then, in a presentation to the audience, Engineer Ezatullah Siddiqui, Deputy Director of Professional Affairs at the National Environmental Protection Agency, detailed the technicalities of how to access the Green Climate Fund's financial resources. The department's deputy director requested that government and sector departments create plans and concepts in line with the requirements of the fund.
Abdullah al-Dardari, the head of the United Nations Development Program in Afghanistan, said  "Implementing these projects will help alleviate poverty, flexibility in the face of  climate change, and the country's economic growth. "I assure the leadership of the National Environmental Protection Agency that "We will spare no effort for the projects."
The Ministers and Deputies of the partner agencies presented their views and opinions on the Afghan National Plan for the Green Climate Fund at the end of the discussion, and pledged to develop regular plans and concepts in collaboration with the National Environmental Protection Agency and international institutions in order to obtain projects from the Green Climate Fund.
