Signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the National Environmental Protection Agency and the Agha Khan Foundation

The National Environmental Protection Agency and the Agha Khan institution for Housing signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on (November 26, 2020).
This memorandum was signed by DDG for technical affairs of NEPA and, Chief Executive Officer of Agha Khan Foundation at Kabul Serena Hotel for the expansion of bilateral cooperation and implementation of environmental projects in different parts of the country.
While thanking the Aga Khan Foundation, DDG in technical affairs of NEPA said that the design of plans and implementation of projects through national and international institutions for environmental protection, disaster management and beating climate change is effective and added that Afghanistan is faced with great environmental challenges such as; Environmental degradation, #air pollution, water, climate change, lack of solid waste management, desertification and loss of biodiversity, to overcome these problems; The cooperation of the people and institutions such as the Aga Khan Foundation is essential. He also added that: our people in the villages face with big environmental problems, including; Climate change, natural disasters, forced migration and insecurity, and it is necessary to implement large-scale programs in the suburb, which shows that life is not possible without industry and development.
Also at the conference, Ambassador of the Aga Khan Foundation to Afghanistan and Executive Director of the Aga Khan Institute for Housing, made the commitment to implement projects such as natural disasters, climate change, mining, urban development and water in parts of the country.
