The role of customs is important in preventing the import of ozone-depleting gases

Mohammad Yousuf Hamidian, Deputy Director of Finance and Administration of the National Environmental Protection Agency, addressed this issue at a conference held on the occasion of International Customs Day.
The event was organized by the National Environmental Protection Agency in cooperation with the Customs Department with the participation of Nisar Ahmad Ghoriani, Minister of Trade and Industry, Amena Ahmadi, Head of Customs, Younes Momand, Head of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, heads of relevant departments, national businessmen, civil society and media representatives.
Mr. Hamidian pointed out that the customs have an important and prominent role in the borders of the country to strengthen the global supply chain and guarantee a sustainable future. This includes controlling environmentally harmful goods and materials and preventing illegal trade in the country's natural heritage. In this meeting, Nisar Ahmad Ghoriani, Minister of Trade and Industry, and Mrs. Amena Ahmadi, Head of Customs, also presented their statements regarding the reform process, the importance of customs and their future plans.
Also, Ahmad Shoaib Noorzad, Head of National Ozone Office Programs, ‎‎presented his presentation on the role of customs in implementing multilateral ‎environmental treaties, implementing the Montreal Protocol, and preventing the ‎entry of harmful ozone gases.
World Customs Day is celebrated every year on January 26 to appreciate the work of the world's customs offices. And this year, this day is dedicated to the united and endless efforts of the customs to get out of the corona virus crisis and to support the people and trade by strengthening the global supply chain.
