Pashtoon Atif, Director General of the National Environmental Protection Agency, listened to the problems and challenges facing by provincial environmental departments, through an online meeting on 01 july 2021
In this meeting, the heads of environment of the provinces informed Mr. Atif about the environmental situation of their provinces, their problems and suggestions to speed up the work process in the provinces in cases such as lack of administrative repairs, lack of facilities and equipment, lack of coordination Among the departments to prevent deforestation, simplify the issuance of environmental permits, challenge water pollution and municipal and medical waste management, capacity building and climate change challenges.
After hearing the provincial heads problems and suggestions, the General Director of the National Environmental Protection Agency promised: that "Your suggestions will be considered as much as possible after evaluation; however, it is necessary to prepare plans and concepts for the mentioned problems."
Mr. Atif also emphasized the importance of improving collaboration between the private sector and relevant provincial departments, and requested them to work together to raise public awareness, which is one of the agency's top priorities.
