Pashtoon Atif, Director General of the National Environmental Protection Agency met with Mr. Rajendra Ariel, President of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization of Afghanistan in his office.
First, Mr. Atif thanked the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization for its continued assistance in implementing environmental projects in the country and asked Mr. Ariel to assist the agency in implementing the Green Climate Fund and the CBID project which are due next month, as well as future cooperation.
Mr. Ariel spoke about the organization's activities in Afghanistan and displayed information about, newly completed projects for the management and cleanup of the Kabul, Arghandab, and Arghastan rivers are to be implemented, which will be effective for environmental protection.
The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) continues to execute programs in Afghanistan through the Green Climate Fund (GCF). He declared that: This organization would help the National Environmental Protection Agency in preparing plans and concepts in line with the Green Climate Fund Secretariat's conditions.
